There are three things a Veteran, family member of a Veteran, or surviving spouse of a Veteran can do that will ensure they will receive all available benefits.

• See a Veterans Service Officer - A service officer provides benefits counseling and claims assistant for Veterans and their dependents.

• Sign up for VA Healthcare - a majority of benefits that are available are healthcare related, from medical services to medications.

• Join a Veterans Service Organization - members of Veterans Service Organizations are usually the first to hear about new benefits. They also provide camaraderie and support to fellow Veterans. Most service organizations have auxiliaries available to family members.
